Flirtation vs. Sexual Harassment

             First let me define flirtation and sexual harassment. Flirtation is a way of showing interest. It is a playful behavior intended to arouse sexual interest. There are two kinds of sexual harassment: quid pro quo and hostile environment. Quid Pro Quo is when sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other verbal, nonverbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment or educational benefits or services, or submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used a the basis for employment or academic decisions affection the individual. Hostile environment is when sexual harassment is defined as intimidating, threatening or offensive verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, which is unwelcome and is sufficiently severe or pervasive to interfere with an employee's work environment or a student's education.
             Some types of Physical Behavior are Grabbing, squeezing or pinching or touching the person's clothing, hair, or body. Other types of physical behavior which is a little less obvious is A hand on the shoulder or arm when talking or giving instructions, Hanging around a person, Standing close or brushing up against a person, and following a person.
             Types of verbal behavior is Whistling at someone, cat calls, making comments of a sexual nature, Asking about sexual fantasies, preferences or history, and Making kissing sounds, howling, smacking lips. A type of verbal behavior that is not as obvious is constantly complimenting a person's appearance rather then accomplishments.
             Non-verbal behavior, to me, can be the most difficult to identify most of the time. These types are eyeing a person up and down, Staring at someone, and giving personal gifts. Some that be more obvious to some but still not others are Making facial expressio...
