Wow! That's Derek pulling up in an Escalade stretch limo that has twenty-one-inch alloy rims that spin. He's wearing a black Armani suit and shoes with a white tie. His butler drives off in the stretch limo and parks it in the parking lot adjacent to a four-door sedan. Derek flashes his fancy cell phone as his platinum and diamond custom made Rolex lights up the room. When his friends question him, he explains to them how he recently finished producing two major rap artist albums. Because of the platinum status of the albums, Derek received his first royalty check. Derek has just demonstrated the status of being a baller. In this essay I'm describing, giving examples, and the causes of being a baller.
             A baller is a person who has been fully and successfully established in numerous social circles (Urban Dictionary, 2003, p. 1); A person status in society has been earned by his or her possession of "game", (Urban Dictionary, 2003, p.1) when it comes to success in the everyday social world; A person that has established themselves in their town or neighborhood and is makes a large sum of money. A baller loves to invest in the finest cars, clothes, electronic gadgets, and other items. When it comes to the subject of money, a baller has a very cocky attitude.
             Even in the world today, there are ballers we see everyday on television, concerts, conferences, ect. Here are a few examples: famous rapper Eminem bought a 5.8 million dollar mansion located in Oakland Township, Michigan; on the other hand, Eminem is currently averaging 31.8 million dollars a year with record sells and his new record label; Fifty Cent, another famous rapper, purchased a 4.1 million dollar home in Connecticut, and recently purchased another bullet proof H2: Hummer stretch limo. Both of these rappers had multi-platinum albums and are icons in the Hip-Hop music industry.
