I place emphasis throughout the day on communication between the children and between children and myself when planning and carrying out activities. I also think that I will carry on the tradition of show-and-tell. I believe that it encourages children to express themselves clearly as well as helps them to build confidence when in front of their peers.
For areas considering mathematics, I have found that using resources such as books, songs, stories, rhymes, manipulative materials, games, and computers are essential. Students will work on counting, number concepts, numeral recognition, shape, size, time, and quantity.
