Gatsby excused himself and said that he would talk to Nick later that night. Nick then rejoined Jordan. Later, the butler came up to Jordan and asked her to speak to Gatsby privately. Nick waited around for an hour before the two emerged, and then said goodbye to Jordan and Gatsby and went home.
