Tutankhamun

abti held a resemblance to Tutanhkamun, but weren't identical. They were made of wood, quartzite, calcite, limestone, black granite, and a range of coloured faience. They all held gazing looks at eternity and held emblems of 'Osirian' royalty or tools for the tasks they would have to perform. Some were masterpieces, strikingly life like portraits of the king. Others were simply varnished terracotta figurines in a simplistic style.
The belief that the shabti would perform the duties of everyday life for the kings, says that the Egyptians believed that the afterlife was very similar to their first life on earth. In real life, the jobs that the Shabti would perform would be done by peasants and conscripted workers.
The shabti were found in decorated boxes, in the Antechamber , Treasury, and Annexe. They were accompanied with an extra 1816 tools which they would use.
Some shabti were inscribed with a formula, others carried just the name of their master - Tutankhamun.
