Crop Circles

"Authentic crop circles show no damage to the plants, unlike hoaxed circles in which the stalks
are broken and crushed. In authentic crop circles, the plants are gently bent over, yet continue to
grow. The plants in faked circles are often killed by the 'circlemakers'."(Andrews, 2003). To
aid in presenting the structure of crop circles and the delicacy of the crop itself, read the
following: "Canola stems are very brittle, snapping like celery if bent, and the plants in David's
formation were clearly bent at the base, almost steamed into place. As in all crop circles before
it, the plants were bent at nearly a right angle, an inch above the soil and just before the first node
-- the plant's 'knuckles'. Any damage to canola causes its yellow flowers to die, yet all the
             delicate flowers were intact."(Silva, 2002).
Aliens must be the ones responsible for crop circles. Some theories state that the crop
formations are the result of a UFO landing in that crop. "Arguments against the landing site
theory ask some interesting questions. Why would the crops be swirled but otherwise
undamaged? And why do the sites keep changing size and shape?"(Oxlade, 1999). It is easy to
answer that second question. Our airplanes on earth come in different sizes and shapes, what
makes people think that this does not hold true for alien space ships? Other theories state that
crop circles are an alternate life form's way of communicating with us. "As you might expect,
there are strong arguments against the UFO theory. For example, if highly intelligent aliens are
trying to communicate with us, why wouldn't they do it so we could understand?"(Oxlade,
1999). Did it ever cross these people's minds that the aliens may
