The French Revolution

             There were many key events in the French history, but none as history defining as the French Revolution. Discovering the events of the Revolution and their causes, it is then easier to understand why things happened the way they did.
             During the 18th century, France was ruled by a series of Kings that used their Devine Right to full extents. People grew unhappy, and the ideas of Enlightenment really pushed them forward, promoted new ways of things and how much better their lives could be. French Revolution was the outbreak of all emotions and change proposals that the people kept inside of them.
             In the late 1700's, France's absolute monarchy foundations were unstable. So to save the system, the current king Louis XVI had to greet his people's request for a representation in the decision-making process. The outcome was the Estates General, which was a group of representatives from each Estate (social class) that held meetings at king's request, in order to represent people's views and ideas on the king, the country, and the society. It was an extremely rare occurrence, so when in 1789 an Estates General meeting was called by the king, people predicted changes.
             The meeting was simply supposed to decide how the voting in the Estates General should occur, while ignoring the financial problems in France. During that meeting, the Third Estate, which consisted of workers, peasants and bourgeoisie, declared themselves independent from the Estates General and created National Assembly. It was because the Third Estate had the same amount of votes as the other two Estates, while the Third Estate represented five times as many people. The Assembly then began working immediately on the creation of the constitution.
