out the novel, Piggy attempts to condition the island society to mirror the society they all lived in England. Piggy's continual references to his aunt demonstrate this philosophy. He tries to pull Ralph towards the reason-oriented side of human nature. "I'm scared of him, and that's why I know him. If you're scared of someone you hate him but you can't stop thinking about him. You kid yourself he's all right really, an' then when you see him again; it's like asthma an' you can't breathe." (93)
             Jack was the antagonist of the island and of all the boys. He represents anarchy. " 'If you're hunting sometimes... you can feel as if you're not hunting, but-being hunted, as if something's behind you all the time in the jungle.' " (51) He was one of the older boys stranded on the jungle island. He becomes the leader of the hunters and is longing for overarching power of all the boys. He becomes very wild and his temper increases as the novel goes on and many boys are afraid by him. He uses mythology as a way to control the boys by the end of the book. His behavior leads to he death of Simon and Piggy. He lead his group to kill them by chants like, "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" (186) He would have killed Ralph but the naval officer gets there in just the right time.
