An article written by Bill Press "No 10 Commandments in the courthouse" and published on WorldNetDaily web site, discusses why the Ten Commandments should be taken out of the courthouses. What has gone wrong with America? Why do Americans think we do not need Gods laws in our schools, in our homes, in public places, and even now in our court houses of America? Look at the decision the federal judge made, a ruling to remove a 5,300-pound monument of the Ten Commandments to be removed from Alabama judicial building. The courthouse is where judges make decisions of guilty or not guilty that can affect a person's life forever. These Ten Commandments are the first laws given by God for man to go by. What makes people think that they can just throw Gods laws out the window? I disagree with this decision the federal judge has made; it was an irrational response and one that was not thought through.
             In a response from Bill Press, of the WorldNetDaily he said, "They just can't plant a 2-ton monument to their particular religion in a government building and, in effect, turn that building into a religious shrine" (Press p.2). How is placing the Ten Commandments in the rotunda of the courthouse in Alabama a religious shrine. People are not coming in each morning and bowing down and worshiping this rock. These are the first laws that are ever recorded and what better place to put them in than a courthouse. From my studies I am yet to find another religious God that has taken a follower up on a mountain and given them laws to live by. The Ten Commandments are not a religious shrine to be worshiped, but good morals to live by.
