             Analysis of The Loves of Franklin Ambrose
             This short story was about a college professor and different women in his life and how he felt and acted towards them. The story incorporates many of the concepts from the Exploring Social Psychology textbook. One concept discussed in module 19 is prejudice. This is a negative attitude of people in a group that is made only because of the group they are in. One example of this from the story can be found on page 8 after Molly heard the committee's decision to not renew her contract. She was very upset and confused and probably felt very angry with everyone in the room because they belonged to the board which ended her teaching career at the university. They are the group to which she may be prejudice against even though not all the people in the group voted to not renew her contract.
             Another concept discussed in module 19 is stereotyping. This is a generalization of people of a certain group that is usually wrong and doesn't pertain to every member of the group. One example of this from the story can be found on page 4 when Molly says that the whole university is filled with fossils who don't understand. By making this statement she is generalizing that no one in the university understands when someone actually may be going through the same thing. Another example is on page 2 when a drunk woman asks Frank if he planned on going back to the ghetto to help his people because he was so successful. The woman was generalizing that all black people are from or live in the ghetto.
             Another concept discussed in module 19 is discrimination. This is a negative behavior towards a person or group that may be caused from prejudice. One example of this from the story can be found on page 1 when Frank makes a mean, sarcastic comment to another black professor just to amuse his white friends.
