Throughout the my junior year of College English III, I got to learn a lot of
myself. I realized what my strengths and weaknesses were. My strengths being
able to comprehend more of the English language a lot better, reading faster,
speaking more fluently, and writing in more in depth. My main weakness that I have
noticed throughout the year would have to be my knack for procrastination.
Looking back on the 3 quarters that have gone by and the fourth almost
over, I am quite content with the progress that I have made over the 2 semesters.
Surely, my grades fell because of my lack in participation. Going through my
portfolios that I did in the past though pleased me. I don't know if I was happy
because I actually knew what I was doing and doing it well, I may add, or if it was
just a simple assignment that I passed very well. I had received a lot of A's and B's
for my work. I liked doing the poetry unit. For some reason, it is easy for me to
The writing this year was excellent. I think that it was balanced pretty well
from easy to hard. I think the hardest writing assignment that we received all year
was the whole Shakespeare deal. The portfolios were not hard at all because the
majority of them were what you thought, and not some paper that you had to
research. The only other times we would have to write is when we had a test or a
quiz that required an explanation for the answer. I would much rather have had
multiple choice, because I also think that one of my weak points is explaining
something in depth on a piece of paper.
Fourth quarter reading happened to be my favorite time period only because
the tow books we read interested me, not fully, but enough to keep my attention.
Fahrenheit 451 was a little strange at first, but as we read on I began to
understand what kind of world Montag was living in. I think I quickly began to like
