             In Bryan Sykes's book, "Seven Daughters of Eve," the reader sees non-fictional and fictional chapters that draw them in into the story. The first fourteen chapters are non-fiction, which covers the science of the story illustrates the background of the seven daughters that are fictional. Within the fictional chapters, Sykes shows the human struggle to survive that the seven daughters had to encounter in the prehistory. From this, it is apparent that he wanted to show what could be if science was seen the way he presented it in the book. Therefore, Sykes reveals the credentials of a precise element of DNA that passes continuously through the maternal line, which lets scientists to trace people's genetic makeup, dating back to the prehistory of the seven daughters of Eve (amazon.com). This means he also reveals an amazing scientific discovery of the genetic makeup of human beings. In other words, Sykes expresses his scientific ideas and enhances the reader's imagination in his book, "Seven Daughter of Eve," which shows the possible prehistory of the human race.
             From there, Sykes starts with the story of how he found the descendant of five thousand year old man that he found in Italy in 1994. He discovered this so called "ice man" while he was evaluating mitochondrial DNA sequences. By the following quote, it can be easily determined why the man was referred to as iceman, "Judging by the equipment, the airplane accident went back many years" (Sykes, 4). Along with that, mitochondrial DNA is held in egg cells and not sperm cells, which means this is how Eve and the seven daughters produce life. This type of DNA is conveyed without amalgamation so that the alterations can be the consequences of mutations that happen at a determined rate over time.
