Summaries of televison shows

             The first program that I watched was the sitcom Friends. As I watched Friends I noticed that there are many different techniques used to target their preferred audience. One way they target the audience is the way they dress. They have a very new, stylish look to them that usually would target your average white, suburban teenager. Also, their apartment is very fashionable; it has a stylish look to it. The scene that I watched had all the characters in the girl's apartment. The props that were being used were simply items that would be in an apartment. They made the apartment look very colorful and it had a trendy look to it.
             Whenever the characters would speak you could hear them very clearly, which made me believe they had many mics surrounding them. Also, they would have many different camera angles on the characters, and they would have close-ups when a particular character would speak. The shots were centered and a long shot had every character in it. Also, no characters were half way in shots or half out. The camera angles and the clarity of the characters voices helped make the scenes more enjoyable and even funnier. Also, the lighting was a very well done because it gave the sense that the characters were in an apartment building and not on a set. This is a high budget sitcom, so you would expect that the lighting would be perfect. Each character was clearly visible and did not stand out or blend into the background.
             The reality television show that I watched was Fear Factor. This show has people come on and do crazy stunts for money. It is a popular show and would appear to have the money for a high budget production. The scene that I watched was in a basement and it was very dark and the contestants were eating slugs.
