Healing

             When someone important in your life dies your life will change. Powerful emotions, chaos, and confusion will follow a loss and returning to your daily life seems impossible.
             To heal you Must first accept and then overcome the impact it has on your life. It will help you get through this difficult time in your life if you face it and work through your grief. Find a way to accept the loss and begin to adjust to the changes. This is usually easier said then done, unfortunately there's no way to "fake" adjustment and no way around the pain you will feel with it. You need to allow the death to sink in.
             Support is an extremely essential part of your healing. You need a good support group. Your friends and family are a fine example of support, you feel comfortable with them and it provides the chance to share your grief with loved ones that are going through this experience with you. Sometimes your support group may not know what to say or there may be things you don't want to share with them, in that case a professional caregiver can give you the support that you need. A therapist, counselor or clergyman is another place you can turn to.
             Understanding and coping with your feelings is another stepping stone to healing. Before you can knowingly express a feeling, you must realize you're having one. Recognizing that you're having a feeling is the link between emotion and thought.
             Many times we want to manage and work toward overcoming unpleasant feelings, but really you need to feel those feelings, this is part of your grief work. If you push the feelings away and shut them out your grief will get complicated and harder to heal.
