The Blind who can see

             The blindness doesn't hurt, it doesn't harm, it doesn't extremely limits as we feel limited when closing our eyes pretending to be blind, and it also isn't a disease. Exist a myth about blindness that makes it seems horrible but it is not. The narrator of "Cathedral" thought blindness was a disability and limited the man's life's experiences, but really it was the narrator who was blind to his own strengths and weaknesses.
             Robert used with the fact of being blind and just "see" the way he "sees" forgetting that what he "sees" isn't vision. After a while one is able to work, live, have all sexual, emotional, and intellectual pleasures that everyone can have. In which was so hard for the narrator to see that, as when he mention, "Robert and Beulah had
             married, lived and worked together, slept together-had sex, sure- and then the blind man had to bury her. All this without his having ever seen what the goddamned woman looked like". (Para.16 pg.102). The problem is not between the blinds and the blindness itself but between the blindness and the society. They are always left behind a wall that doesn't let them be seeing as they are with differences and equalities.
             When Robert noticed the narrators' limits, mainly the ones related to self-confidence, it is when they clearly feel how his blindness is the bridge to solve the problem they have, if it is a problem! Blindness is a difference, a limit that if it was up to me it can be diminished or increased. In which the "Cathedral" was diminishing at the end when the narrator and Robert experience the same, they felt equal.
             Although, the deficiency depends of who carries it, because Robert didn't fit the narrators' first imaginations of how a blind man should look like. In fact, the narrator was very smart and could reduce the imaginaries chall
