             When I began to look for articles for my paper, it clear I had to really be selective in regards the material I was to analysis. It was apparent that different culture viewed success in very contrasting ways. Even with this said there seem to be a similarity in a lot of the articles I viewed. The trait that seems to be present in most of the articles was material wealth. In American society this seems to be the ultimate judge. This is one of the many points I will highlight as I render my interruptions of the articles.
             The first set of articles I reviewed was from Hip-Hop Magazines. Their readers are predominately African and Hispanic American, who reside in the urban areas of America. A lot of these articles were clothing advertisements, or album release posters. But these articles were seriously troubling to me. For this is the kind of material that past two generations have been raised on, and the messages in them are down right weird.
             The first thing I noticed was that everyone had on large sums of jewelry on. This in the urban sub-culture is a sign of immense wealth. Also, everyone had on the newest clothing and the sneakers on their feet look as if they have never been worn. Minor material accusations seem to be a sign of success and importance. These advertisements are more then just mere promotions for a company. They serve as a blue print for those seem not to understand what success looks like. They represent al that is goals, and dreams of many in the urban community. But beyond the clothing there were a few more images, which clearly stem from sexiest ideals which exist in our society.
             The men in these articles were very masculine, and seem to look angry in some the articles. The depicted as strong and sometimes almost a little intimidating. These men were fit and seem to have scalped bodies. They were relatively handsome men, and some just look like models. But this is not uncommon in the...
