The Pebble Hills Police station is the third newest police station in the city. That is where I was headed to do my career interview. I pulled into the parking lot of the station, located next to Saver's store on the corner of Lee Trevino and Pebble Hills. The parking lot was fairly empty, and contained only three police cars. I pulled yup to my space and sat there for about ten minutes reviewing my questions and checking my tie, and no I wasn't wearing a three piece suit although I thought about wearing one.
When I walked into the police station I thought I was going to walk in on some horrible scenes, but no one was there. The inside of the lobby has seats around the perimeter and a real tree in the middle. The color theme of the station is light blue and white. Before walking up the empty window I took mental notes of the lobby.
A little hesitant because I was about seven minutes early, I walked up to the window and rang the bell. There was a lot of paper work, two computers and about 15 radios charging (walkie talkies). In the room behind the window a person finally appeared. He didn't look like someone I expected. He was about 5 foot 7 inches and looked like he could be about 70 years old. The man greeted me by saying, "How can I help you young man?" I told him that I had and appointment with Sergeant Smith. The old man said "Oh yes, he has been expecting you", and left to go get him. When he left I reminded myself to speak clear, and loud. Then I heard a buzz and the door opened. He came out and shook my hand and said, "Whoa, I didn't think this was going to be a professional interview, sorry I'm under dressed. I laughed and said, "I am just trying to look professional."
