peaceful assembly and protest. Far too often this happens. People exercise their rights granted by law, and the laws are twisted to violate and further oppress the individual or group. A man has the right to bear arms and protect his property; however, if an intruder enters his home and is killed out of self defense, he (the home owner) may still face charges of murder. On the other hand there are also those individuals who chose to construe the laws to what they want them to be, rather than what they are. These are the individuals King was speaking against when he said "One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws" (186).
