In chapter 18 Lewis discusses the great sin, saying that no man is free from it. I think this is a very accurate description. Every one is born with original sin and that is why we are baptized. It can not be escaped so I don't understand why people would not want to admit it. As Christians we should accept it and try to base our lives on improving from that primordial occasion. It is crazy to believe that people are continually running from the inevitable. We were never perfect, and will never be perfect. To me living with this is a lot easier than trying to avoid it and make excuses for it. Pride is not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of times it is healthy.
             However, there is a problem with having too much pride. When people become over come with it can prove disastrous. We must learn the difference between pride and humility. Since I was younger I was always taught that being humble is one of the most important characteristics a person can have. Just think no one like a cocky person. Having too much pride in one self is not a positive trait. If you do a deed and brag about it, it is equal to not doing that deed at all. If it is necessary, we should periodically stop and check how proud we are of our selves. Not to be disappointed, but as a reality check. Most of the time people will not be particularly happy with the outcome but they will be better off catching it sooner than later.
