Rival gangs also decided to take a cut from the alcohol running business. The toughest gang that the Mafia took on was the O'Bannion Gang. In Illinois, there were two major gangs controlling all of Chicago, Johnny Torrio's Mafia and Dion O'Bannion's Irish Gang.
