It was Friday morning and that night was our high school football playoff game against our rivals West Milford. I was waiting for this game all season. As soon as I woke up that morning I was already anxious and nervous for the game. The night before I couldn't even get to sleep until three in the morning. If we could win that night then we would have a shot at the championship game at giants stadium. To get there would be the ultimate achievement for out team being that we haven't even made the playoffs in seven years.
             A week before the game I was getting a haircut and I was overhearing conversations going on about the game. People were saying how we had no shot at all of winning and that West Milford was the better team. I wanted to say something to defend my team and tell these people that we did have a fair chance at beating them but I knew that the people talking about my team didn't have the slightest idea about the game of football. Everywhere I went people were talking down about us and telling me that we our outmatched and to small of a team. After awhile I kind of started to believe it myself but then I realized that people are going to say what they want and I can't change that. All we could do what win our game prove all those people wrong in what they thought.
             That day of the game I could barely get through the school day without daydreaming about that night and what I had to do. As I was sitting in my criminal civil law class my teacher was asking me questions about the discussion going on in class and I was so distracted with thinking of the game that I couldn't even concentrate on what he was talking about. Finally school let out and as I was walking to my car I saw that it was getting overcast and started to rain lightly.
