             One night, Huck finds his drunken father sitting on his bed; he is startled and does not know why he is there. He figures out that his father is there just to get some of Huck's discovered money. Huck is more educated than his father is. Huck is told that he should not be going to school anymore so as not to embarrass his father. Huck was threatened about going to school but he disobeyed his father and went anyway. The kindly judge that invests money for Huck, Judge Thatcher, was the one that kept the money for Huck and will do anything he can to keep it from his father. This made Huck's father very angry and caused him to kidnap Huck from the Widow's house, taking him deep into the forest to a deserted cabin.
             At first Huck liked the idea of freedom from the civilized world; he could do whatever he wished. Many times his father would go into town, come back drunk and beat him. Huck couldn't take much more abuse, but there was no way of escaping the little cabin. One day, while his father was in town, Huck found a way to escape.
