A significant change in today's world has come from the creation of the Internet. The average person would never have the opportunity to chat with a stranger living on a different continent. Now the Internet presently allows many people all over the globe to communicate and better understand each other. It has brought many people who once had ignorance and prejudices together with a couple clicks of a finger. Also, before the Internet was created it took large amounts of time and money for people on different continents to exchange considerable amounts of information for use in their businesses. And, now that the Internet exists many different people can communicate and learn about each other personally and professionally.
             Prior to the change, different people of different countries were not as easily able to talk casually with one another. They would never have had the chance to see for themselves that they were similar, even though they resided in different countries with different customs. Only those who had enough wealth to travel to another country could learn about another's customs and society. Those who didn't have that wealth would be more ignorant of those whom they have never met only because they didn't spend the time talking with them, creating more prejudice and discrimination.
             It was difficult for companies to communicate internationally. If they did keep connections in other countries, it was very expensive. Companies would either have to mail documents or send a spokesperson for whomever they wanted to meet with outside the country. Mailing information from one person to another in a different country was time consuming and expensive. For example, if a person in the United States needed to send a hundred page inventories to someone in Korea. It would take a week for a person in Korea to receive the mail, which is more costly.
