Hercules was born at about the year 1350 B.C. He was the original Son of God (http://www.christslove.com/Hercules/Hercules.ht-
             m). Hercules was the strongest man who ever lived on earth (D' Aulaire 132).
             Hercules was born to Zeus and Alcmene. One of Zeus's other wives, Hera, hated Alcmene, so she hated Hercules. Hera sent poisonous snakes to Hercules's crib to kill him when he was a baby, but he simply strangled them before they could bite him (http://perseus.uchicago.edu/Herakles/).
             After Hercules grew up, he married Margara and had 2 children. Hera put Hercules into such a rage that he snapped and murdered his wife and kids. After he regained his senses, he realized what he had done. He went to the god Apollo and asked him to get rid of him for his punishment. Apollo told Hercules he should perform 10 labors for so that the evil spirit would be cleansed from his spirit. This eventually turned into 12 labors because he finished them so quickly. Hercules had to go to King Eurytheosis, King of Tiryns, to serve for 12 years to perform his labors (http://perseus.uchicago.edu/Herakles/).
             One of Hercules's labors was to slaughter a lion and bring back it's magical skin, which could not be punctured. Another labor was to clean King Augeas' stables of his thousands of animals. King Augeas was said to have owned more cattle than anyone else in Greece. For another labor, Hercules had to scare away a flock of man-eating birds. After Hercules was done with his labors, he went on to become a great hero, saving many people. One of those people was princess of Troy from a hungry sea monster. He also helped Zeus defeat the Giants, who were trying to take over Mount Olympus (http://perseus.uchica-go.edu/Herakles/).
             Hercules married a second time to Deianira. When he returned home one day from one of his adventures, she gave him a cloak she had made him as a welcome home present. Before she gave it to him,
