The Poem "Daddy" written by Sylvia Plath is full of anger and deep emotions. Plath tells about her whole life hating her father. She also states that her father left her helpless and hopeless. Plath was a very strong women. She survived the domination of her father and her husband but not for long. She only knew her father for a very short period of her time, but in that short period she had gathered so much anger and hate for him. Plath held on to her anger even after he died; infact she got angrier and hated her father more after his death. The poem focuses on Plath's father, who left her at a young age with anger on her mind, negative feelings with her father and with rough life.
             The voice of this poem explains by Plath towards her father in the form of anger and hate. Plath had different ideas of her father as she grows. Plath uses to believe he is the god. As time went by she thought he was nothing and then called him vampire. Plath through this poem verbally turns over her feeling a rage, abandonment, confusion and grief. Her father died when she was a little girl. She had face a very hard time in her life. This hard time and her father not being there for her made her hated towards her father so much, "Daddy, I have had to kill you. You died before I had time" (351). Plath was so furious that she wanted to kill her father. She talks to him with anger and somewhat love. She feels her father that if he had not died, when he died, she would have to kill him. As a speaker plath expressing all her feelings, anguish and how she tried to compensate for his death.
