Snowboarding is a solo sport that can be done at many, but only specific places. There are a few things to think about before you go snowboarding: where you are, or better yet, what area you would like to go snowboarding in is an even better question. If you are in southern California, you may want to travel to Big Bear National Park. In Big Bear, you can go snowboarding in more than one place. Bear Mountain is the quickest to get to from the high desert and is usually less crowded than the more popular Snow Summit. Snow Summit is only a few miles down the highway from Bear Mountain but has more freestyle parks. If you are a beginner, you might want to go to Bear Mountain because it has a larger area, (more "bunny slopes" or beginner slopes) to learn on. If you are more advanced and want to try your luck with the half pips or the jumps in the terrain park, go to Snow Summit.
             Another thing to consider is what time of day you want to go. Maybe you want to go late at night. If that were the case then you would want to go to Snow Summit because they have lights and there is night boarding. If you are closer to Los Angeles, you might want to go to Mountain High, near Pasadena. Here you have a large area to go snowboarding and night boarding is also available. If you are more adventurous and would like to go up to Northern California, there is a resort called Mammoth Mountain. Mammoth Mountain is one of the places to be in the United States when it comes to snowboarding. It has larger slopes and better freestyle parks for advanced snowboarders. To sum up the idea of where to go snowboarding, there are many places to go to, but depending on where you are and your skill level, you might not want to go to all of them at first.
