When the Puritans came to settle in the new land there main purpose for coming to this new land was to worship their God the way they wanted to. They wanted freedom of religion. They set their government laws by the word of God. Money was not as important to them, because the puritans completely devoted their lives to god. Since they were suffering when they came to the new land because they did not know how to use the new land they were more focused on God. Being in hard times brought them closer to God. When things got better for them they fell away from god not needing to be so depending on hopes that their god would help save them. Times have changed and there are different people with some of the same viewpoints. We call them missionaries. They are focused on God and doing his work by helping other people.
             The Planters on the other hand had different views and thoughts on what life is about. Money and making money fast is what they focused on. They came to the new land in hopes of getting rich quick. The planters usually wouldn't know how to do hard labor by themselves or refused to do it. They were not as close to God as they could have because all they cared about was money. So they would bring in slaves to work for them. Money is what they were devoted to.
             In my opinion between the puritan's beliefs to serve god as a main priority
             Or the planter's views on making money and only worrying about money it would be a bit of both opinions. I do believe in working hard in life. Earning enough to be able to support a family and being able to share it with others who may need it is very important to me. I do think that college is a very essential tool, because with out education people could not get any higher in life. However I do want to have a higher paying job working as a doctor.
