Death Penalty

The death penalty has been around for thousands of years. There has been over hundreds of different methods. Today there are only a handful that are legal and being used. Since the death penalty has been around so long it must be a good thing and it must be working.
In the Constitution of The United States nowhere specifically does it say that the death penalty is bad or illegal. If the Constitution does no refer to it than it should be okay to have and use. It should be up to the people to decide whether or not to have the death penalty. The eighth amendment says that "nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted". Some people say that the death penalty is a cruel and unusual punishment. Most people would probably agree that it is not cruel and unusual punishment compared to what the killer did to their victim. It is only fair that the victims friend and family get what makes them happy, if it means giving the killer the death penalty so be it.
Any rights the killer might have had before the killing are taking away the moment he commits the crime. Why should someone who committed such a horrible crime be allowed the same rights as any normal American citizen.
People who are sentenced to multiple life in prison are mostly killers. All they do is sit in prison and end up dieing in the prison. Why should American citizens have to pay taxes to keep them healthy, feed them, and give them shelter. If someone you knew was murdered would you want to pay taxes to keep him/her alive or get the satisfaction of knowing that the killer paid for what he/she did.
