God's miracles are not against nature, but in perfect harmony with his creation. This was achieved through the use of plagues against the Egyptians, which they brought great blessings to the Israelites. They brought great suffering to the Egyptians. This miracle tells two things about God: He is holy, for judging oppressors of men and idolaters; and that he is compassionate, for discrediting the heathen gods, he sought to win to himself those who were guilty of those offences.

One of the first miracles is when God called upon Moses. One day while Moses was taking care of the sheep and goats of his father-in-law, Jethro; he led the flock across the desert to Sinai, the holy mountain. In front of him he saw an image of an angel. This image was in the middle of a burning bush. The strange thing was the angel was not burning up. This was an angel of the Lord. Moses started walking towards the bush. God told him not to come any closer and for him to take off his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. Moses was then told that he was going to be the one to rescue the people from Egypt. He was to tell the Israelites that God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has sent him there in response to the cry out to be rescued from the cruelty of the Egyptians.
