The Romantic poets reshaped writing, poetry and literature in general through their emphasis on passion, emotion and freedom of the individual. William Wordsworth, one of the first Romantic poets during the industrialisation period in England, often used the environment as a visible aspect to enhance the meanings of his poems. He was also renowned for his ability to incorporate the use of nature and its interrelation with the human world to illustrate his beliefs about the importance of memories. "Lines Composed A Few Miles from Tintern Abbey" is a clear justification of Wordsworth's effective use of the environment as it exemplifies how Wordsworth is able to combine the use of imagery and setting to highlight his views about the importance of reminiscence. Despite the fact that the poem was personal in a sense that it was written in relation towards himself and his sister and featured the themes evident seemed to possess a universal significance. Through the use of "spots of time", Wordsworth substantiates that although the world may force him to make certain sacrifices, he will always be able to recall his memories of nature as a blissful solitude that will endure the endless torment of time.
             "Lines Composed A Few Miles from Tintern Abbey" is a lyrical ballad, which is written in blank verse. The poem has unrhymed lines in iambic pentameter and this helps craft the fluid and natural style of the poem. The fact that the poem is written in Blank verse allows it to be more of a conversation between him and Dorothy and therefore makes the poem autobiographical. The first few lines of the poem emphasise the length of time that has elapsed since Wordsworth had been to the Banks of the Wye, and has apparently triggered his thoughts.
