I, John Jay, feel that it is in the best interest of every state to unite as one new nation, a government of the people. As a new nation we can accomplish things we have wished to before, but weren't able to achieve. We will find new freedoms, and set the standards for many generations to come. I will be discussing the pros of Federalism, including our undeniable need for government, safety as one nation, discouraging war, and learning from Great Britain's mistakes.
In our world today there is an unquestionable need for government, without it we are not as strong as we could be as one. We should either become one nation or divide itself into separate confederacies. It is too convenient, too obvious that we should become united to each other by the strongest ties instead of a number of jealous and alien sovereignties. A strong national government is needed to suppress rebellions by Native Americans and small farmers. If we band together, we, as one, can grow to be a brilliant nation.
Being one government can ensure safety and protection from foreign arms and influence, and a cordial Union can provide the best security under an efficient national government. We are not speaking only of physical safety though; a National Government would also protect the rights of the people. Every person has a need for safety, safety as a nation, and as an individual, coming together will ensure this safety. Each person has rights, and they should not be intruded on, as well we should not have to worry at night for the well being of our families.
War has never helped anything, only destroyed lives, therefore nobody wants war when they do not absolutely need it. Being a union and a good national government, instead of welcoming war this will deter it.
