The unicorn stood at the edge of the wood baffled at the sight of the Schmendrick and Molly. "Is it truly them? Could it be that after all this time that we have crossed paths yet once again?" she paused for a moment and wanting a better look walked up a few yards and stood behind some trees to observe them. Being a bit closer she could see more clearly and knew with a certainty that it was indeed the two traveling together, "It really is them," she said as she watched Molly speak to a young girl holding a cat. "That cat looks so familiar," she thought to herself, but then quickly shook her head and dismissed it. "I wonder if they would remember who I was? Perhaps they have seen many unicorns in their time and have forgotten all about me and wouldn't know me even if they saw me," she stopped and thought for a moment, "Or perhaps I am underestimating them." She was so joyful at the sight of them, and now all her worries about their safety had been put to rest. But the joy qui!
             ckly faded at the dilemma over whether or not to reveal herself to them. She wanted to see them, talk to them both, but she was fearful. Before she became human this sort of issue was never a problem. Unicorns typically appeared to young virgin maidens, and they most definitely didn't allow themselves get close to humans. Attachment was not a unicorn's problem, especially to a human. But now she did feel attached. These weren't just two humans; this was Molly and Schmendrick. They shared a past with her that no other being could claim. She felt comforted seeing them. It was like seeing two old friends walk into a crowded room full of strangers, she wasn't alone anymore. Alone. Solidarity had never been a struggle in the past, and yet even though the form of the unicorn had been returned to her, some human traits still lingered within her.
