             Comparing two Ads

The two ads that I chose to write about that were selling products to men was the ad about Tommy Hillfiger for Men and the other one was to do with Jenny Craig. Even thought the product in both ads could also be sold towards the women audience, these ads were advertising mainly towards the male gender.
The first advertisement about the Tommy Hillfiger for Men aired around 9:53 pm on Channel 4 (NBC). It aired between the Round 3 and Round 4 of the Platform Diving, which was one of the main events because USA was also in the top 5 of the winning people. Infact, in the end USA did win the gold in women's platform diving. But getting back to the ad, the ad was started off with these male model's just coming out and modeling with a rock sort of a music playing in the back ground. These models were of all ages modeling the new styles of clothes that are in for all ages. Their main purpose was to get across their new line of clothes to the audience, which they did. The ad lasted around 15-20 seconds, which was more than enough and it got its point across.
The second advertisement, which was about the Jenny Craig for men program aired in the middle of the afternoon, around 3:33 pm on Channel 7 (ABC). It aired between the soap opera General Hospital. This ad just showed a man who uses to be overweight and now after being on the Jenny Craig plan, how he had lost the weight.
I was really surprised with the Jenny Craig ad being aired in the middle of the afternoon. One would think that a soap opera is a women's show to watch, not being stereotype or anything. So why would they air it in the middle of the day, and why not in the evening or something? Both the ads were really good in getting their message across. They both aimed at the male gender and didn't really stereotype anything.
