I was in Grade nine the first time I had ever taken Grade ten mathematics advanced. I was trying to fast track so I could get out of high school a bit earlier. I had just changed schools so I started all my classes two weeks late. I managed to catch up my work for all my classes except my math class. I was never quite able to understand the concept of the first unit that I had missed because I had to teach it to myself. All in all, I did not do too well in my math course because of the first unit and other units which I did not understand fully as well (I received a sixty-one percent). My parents were not too happy with my mark and neither was I. We decided that I would take Grade ten mathematics advanced again next year when I would be in grade ten. Next year came around and sure enough I could not get in to a Grade ten mathematics advanced class until two weeks after school started! Consequently, I was still not able to learn the first unit which I had just missed!
             for the second time. My father tried to explain it to me and I sort of grasped the principle of the unit but not too well. As the semester went on I learnt that my math teacher did not help people very much and he really did not care about me getting good marks in his class. At the end of the semester I had achieved a sixty-six percent. My parents and I were not happy at all about my mark and the fact that I had just wasted a whole period that semester which I could have spent on another course. Then, I decided I would take Grade ten mathematics advanced again in summer. I thought to myself I need a tutor, "This is no time for false pride." "The Death Of A Salesman" by Arthur Miller. I asked my mother if she would get me a good
             tutor and she did. He spent a lot of time helping me that summer. Eventually, I was ready for my exams and I attained ninety-one percent in that course. My tutor still help
