Don't bite the hand that feeds you

Come little ones open thy ears and gather nearby
This is a tale that'll make one happy then cry
Mary and Kerri were friends until they'd depart
Larry was Mary's high school sweetheart
Mary helped Kerri throughout her whole life
She had a rough childhood, which wasn't very nice
Then Kerri had moved away from her long-lived home
But each day got worse, as she was alone
Then Mary gave Kerri her wish, and let her stay at her dwelling
Gave her food, shelter, money and even helped her with her spelling
Mary did all a good friend could ever ask
She even forged her a permission slip so Kerri could cut class
And there's Larry, the innocent man
Every girls dream, he would be as nice as he can
Soon Kerri found the fixation that the girls had in Larry
But it's was her best friend's boyfriend, and he made her so merry
"Forget it, he's out of the picture
But his smile, his eyes, his wonderful fixture"
She said to herself, "I can always have new friends
A guy like this will only come once... I must befriend!"
And so she did, after all Mary had done
Friends forever, and she gave it up for only one
...Now everybody has gone different ways
And I try not to think of that ugly day
If you could get one thing from this poem that you could see-through
Let it be the moral "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!"
