             Over the weekend, I had to interview a parent about the difference between a democrat and a republican. I decided to interview my father, George. In this report you must remember that my dad is a republican, so it may seem that he will look down on the democrats.
             My father says that he is a republican because of its interpretation of the Constitution and his belief in the rights of the people. My dad believes that state's rights are more effective than national laws in many ways, and that the federal government should be restricted in their rights. Although his parents were both republicans, George says that in high school he learned about the two parties and he decided that the Republicans had better views anyways so he stuck with it. He favors simplicity, and feels that people should be simpler in their ways of life.
             My dad has never voted for a democrat in his life, just because he is a republican. I feel that this is wrong, even though I haven't decided what political party that I am going to become. Most of the people my dad knows are like this too, voting for their political party. I don't think that it makes a whole lot of difference, except for who is the best president. Just because someone is of your political party, doesn't mean that he will be the best man for the job.
             When my dad talked about the other political party, the democrats, he made them out to be the worst party in the world it seemed. I don't know much about either party, but if I had to decide a political party right now, I would be a republican just because of how my dad made the democrats sound.
             George's definition of a democrat is someone who fights for equality within our lives, but not really. Democrats have some similar ideas as republicans, but they make the ideas worse when they add things to them. George thinks that there is a lack of authority and ruling in the minds of democrats, and
