Judaism, according to the Jewish calendar has been around since 5765 years. The main aspect of the religion is believing in one god. Throughout the ages the Jewish people have held on to the Ten Commandments and followed them exactly from the original old testament. They do not believe in changing the words or God, nor do they believe in God being a human being, but, rather an entity who controls everything and is very powerful. The Jewish people have great faith in God and did not even have to hear God speak, instead they had Moses go before God, and hear what he had to say and when Moses came back they said " All the words which the Lord has said will we do".
When Jesus came along, he proclaimed that the "spirit of the Lord is upon me". The Jewish people did not like that and do not believe that anyone can change the word of God, especially laws about the Sabbath. This caused a rift when Paul started the religion of Christianity with other Jews who were considered heretics.
One of the major differences between Judaism and Christianity, is that the Jewish people believe Jesus was just a regular person not the Messiah. Whereas, Christians believe he is the son of God and was the Messiah. Christians also believe they can be saved through Jesus. Jews believe one must pray to God only and do not have to go through a mediator. Judaism does not believe that all people will go to hell automatically, rather depending on the life they lead and the good deeds they do will determine their fate after life.
