Eudora Welty wrote A Worn Path to convey the
             ideas and hardships of her life. Eudora was a
             well-traveled scholar who knew what it felt like to
             endure hardship. This story is about perseverance and
             courage. Phoenix was a persevering and courageous person.
             She showed her courage by making her journey to the
             doctor's office every month. She braved the elements
             so that her grandson could be relieved of his pain for another month. If she had not been so courageous and persevering her grandson might have died. However, was Phoenix's grandson still alive or was he already dead? Did Phoenix persevere out of uniformity or was she in fact a loving and caring grandmother?
             Courage is a very important issue in both my
             life and in Phoenix's life. She shows courage
             throughout her life and in my life, it is equally
             important. If one does not show courage, then he or
             she will fall by the way. In this life, it is the
             survival of the fittest. If one is not fit, or does
             not appear to others to be fit, he or she will perish.
             A person does not necessarily have to be the fittest
             or the smartest but he or she merely has to appear to
             be what he or she is not. Some will call this
             hypocrisy, but in reality, it is survival. If a person
             shows apprehension, then her or she will be gobbled up
             and left by the wayside. If a person, however, shows
             courage in the face of despair, then he or she can and
             To survive a person not only has to be
             courageous but also has to persevere. He or she must
             push thought the muck and despair, and continue the
             race of life. If one does not persevere and give up
             because a task seems to hard, then that person will
             not go anywhere in life and end up living on the
             streets. If this is where an individual wants to
             end up then so be it, but if he or she wants to move
             up in this world, then that person has to persevere
             and endure ...
