Already at the beginning, the tension mounts. The format is that they are to have a descent conversation. Neither one of them can talk over two minutes at a time. They start the debate with the big question of; What will you do with the single most powerful country in the world? Not only did Bush talk about himself, he talked about his vice presidential candidate and how well rounded he was. This is pointing out to the nation that Bush will bring great new minds into the power of our nation. Gore came back to say that’s its not just about our military power, but the values of the American people that make our country powerful. This was great to try and kiss some rear of the American people. Gore said something that made me laugh. He pointed out that America has the best economy then goes uh… I mean a good economy we need to improve it. I think that Gore really isn’t too prepared for this debate. Gore seems more in your face and stern. Bush is sitt!
             ing back in his chair and smiling often. Bush is very comfortable in the spotlight, and he shows his calmness. I’m also seeing that bush has a very cocky approach to his answers, almost like he’s talking down to Gore.
             Gore made a stand to side with Israel and help them out in their struggle. My girlfriend is Palestinians and Bush came back to say that he is not for siding with Israel, but he wants an equal compromise between the Israeli’s and Palestinian’s.
             So far the debate has gone for twenty minutes and all they have talked about is U.S. military intervention into Israel, Yugoslavia, and Bosnia. This is a debate for two people who one of them is going to run this country. They need to discuss issues that are in the U.S. We have plenty of problems in our country besides worrying about other countries in the world. Finally they get out of foreign policy and right into racial profiling.
