             In the meeting with Oedipus, Teiresias refuses to answer Oedipus's question in fear of exposing him. Oedipus threatens Teiresias to get the truth out of him. Teiresias finally responds by telling Oedipus, "You yourself are the pollution of this country . . . I say that you are the murderer whom you seek" (i ,19).
