This guide shows how to install the necessary companions to build a personal computer. This set of procedure should only be carried out by an A+ certified technician. Great care should also be observed while doing the various setups, so that the manufactures warranty is not voided.
Tips: If possible, do installation in an uncarpeted area.
Be careful not to touch any chips. Handle board by its edges. Static damage (and even oil damage) may cause failure months after the incident.
1. Ground yourself with any professional grounding equipment you have. Otherwise, ground yourself by touching the computer power supply.
2. Place motherboard on its anti-static bag.
3. Configure motherboard: Set jumpers or DIPswitches for CPU, voltage(s), and bus speed, if necessary. If your motherboard is configured by software, you will need to configure it after you
complete the physical installation.
4. Position motherboard in case. Line up holes in board with holes in case.
5. Insert spacers, plastic stand-offs, washers and screws, as necessary. Tighten screws carefully, but securely.
6. Make sure slots and connectors fit into openings on back of case.
7. Connect motherboard to power supply.
8. Connect CPU fan, if you have one, to power supply.
9. Connect reset and power switches to power supply.
10. Connect LED indicators to power supply.
11. Connect motherboard speaker to power supply.
13. Test motherboard (and configure in CMOS if necessary) before installing other components of computer system.

2.Check to see if it is mounted in a ZIF or LIF socket, or if it is soldered onto the board. A socketed chip will be sitting snuggly in the socket. A soldered chip will have little wires coming off the sides of the chip.
