             Of Mice and Men

Of Mice and Men has now become one of my favorite books because of its plot. It is about two men who travel to different places; they share a common dream, to buy a farm for the two of them. One of the men is named Lennie. Lennie is sort of retarded and a very strong man. Although he has the strength of a man, he has the mental capacity of a child. He really doesn't know, but most of the time he underestimates his own strength causing him to over squeeze things and people
The other main character is George. He is almost the direct opposite of George. He has a smaller build and his brain functions normally, so he is the "brain" of the bunch. Since Lennie can't think properly he counts on George to make all of their decisions.
There is also a man named Curly. He is the boss's son. Lennie is always embracing things and people too much, but he went too far when he killed Curly's wife. Even though he didn't do it on purpose everyone still wanted him dead. Earlier in the book George had told him to go to a certain place in case he got into any trouble.
When George went to this place he found Lennie there. He didn't want any one to kill lennie but he knew it was going to happen one way or another. So he looked away and shot Lennie in the back of the head.
I would definitely recommend this book because George didn't want Lennie to die but preferred to shoot him himself to save lennie the agony of being tortured by the angry mob.
