1st person Native American view of the Colonists (Last of the Mohicans)

1st person Native American view of the colonists
Here I am with my family and tribe in the middle of a great war. The colonists seem so
promising and they tell us all so much, but i don't know what to believe. My children are so
frightened and my wife is so confused. What do I tell them? I don't want to let own my tribe,
the chief, or my family. I'm trying to be the best warrior that I can be.
The colonists tell us if we help them win over the British or the "red coats," we will keep
all of our land and prosper as we were before. If we lose against the red coats we will be
pushed away to unfertile, unprosperous lands. They're all promises, but will they keep them?
I don't know if i should trust them, they might be jsut as greedy as the red coats, and using my
people as sheilds, and fighting tools.
They all do seem trustworthy. They're giving my people guns, weapons, supplies, and
food. Many of the sooth my people with kind words with no sign of dishonesty or greed
in their eyes. Should I trust the colonists? I guess I am even more confused than my
wife. Whatever happens I will do what's best for my family and my people.
