Many people have different thoughts on the similarities and differences between high school and college. Some people say they both can be very alike, and others state that the two are quite different. I can tell you firsthand there may be some things they both have in common, but I would say for the most part the two are different in many ways. Some of the differences can include the amount of work, attitudes of teachers, and the importance of tests. These differences become very clear to new students because they still are used to the high school way of life. Many people may use these differences to form an opinion on which is better, personally I feel that college is the life that I prefer.
             When I was in high school life was easy. Homework was almost non-existent, studying happened once a week and for only a few hours at a time. The teachers would pretty much do anything to help you pass the class. For example, one of my teachers told the class the first day that if we went to class everyday and did nothing he would still pass us with a sixty average. To some people this may seem like a poor grade, but when some people have a free ride they take it.
             Tests were given out three times a month, but they were not weighted heavily on the final grade. What that meant was if you bomb a test there will be many more to pick your grade up. Also, the tests that were given weren't on a vast array of subjects. Usually a quiz covered a section of a chapter and a big test covered the chapter as a whole. The exception to that rule was the final, which was cumulative in most cases.
             Studying in high school was, for lack of a better word, a joke. As I said, once a week was all that it took to pass a test with a decent grade.
