Since TV is a "primary source of information" the media keeps everyone enlightened with the updates of the world around them. Since I dislike reading the newspaper, I was totally unconnected with the news happening in the world. Not only did I have to avoid my common room because of the constant TV watching, but the people I choose to socialize with and the places I choose to go were now all taken into consideration. TV seemed to be everywhere, in my room, the places I went, and even in my classrooms. "Schools have become increasingly dependent on mass media and technomedia for educational purposes." Educational films are often used to help the student grasp a greater understanding for the presented topic being taught. It is additional learning strategy that some, like myself, find helpful.
Since TV and media are incorporated in almost all aspects of our lives, I felt that there were many changes in my social situations and interactions during this project. Many people feel that "television is largely responsible for students' inability to concentrate on anything for any length of time." I agree and disagree because after I sit and watch television for an hour I can not just sit back down and have total focus and concentration on my school work again it takes time to develop that focal point. Since I did not have the option to watch TV, my concentration was only on schoolwork and my choices for other distractions were now limited. I also felt that my interactions with people were even more restricted. When one is watching TV they cannot interact with others, which is another reason TV impacts our socialization. Since I was not allowed to watch TV, I felt that because a TV was constantly around,I could not interact with others.
Turning to other forms of distraction was the only way to help myself, considering the restrictions
