             My report is about Thomas Alva Edison the greatest inventor of all times. He lived in Milan, Ohio, and was born on February 11, 1847, and died October 18, 1931.
             Thomas Edison's life was one big mystery. Thomas experimented with many things, one of those things was fire. During one of his many experiments he burnt down his father barn. His father took him to the town Square and beat him for all to see. They built a railroad line near his family's home and they decided to move because of poor business. When Thomas and his family moved, Thomas came down with scarlet fever, and he had to stay out of school until the next year, making him older than the other kids. In school Thomas always asked a lot of questions and could not keep still in his seat so the teachers would hit him with a stick. Thomas overheard a conversation between his teacher and a visitor and the teacher said that he was stupid and confused. Thomas left school and was home schooled from then on.
             The people of this time seemed to only care about their farms and money, and the Civil War that was going on. The common jobs were farming or printing the newspaper. There was no such thing as electricity or telephones, and other such luxuries.
             Thomas invented many things that helped many people. He brought electricity and lights to the people. He had become a celebrity, and was called a "creative Genius. He invented a telegraph machine that could send four messages at once. He called this invention the Mimeograph machine and used it to help the war. During the First World war he worked on devices to save American ships from the German torpedoes, and invented camouflage to hide the American troops from the Germans.
             Thomas Edison was issued 1,093 patents, more than any other inventor of his time. His inventions brought electricity into our homes, the phonograph, and motion pictures changed the world. His inventions became famous wor...
