life support

What does life hold for a person who is only living by the technology of a life support machine? The person who is ill does not have a chance of waking up and being able to live a normal life. So how can we let this simple act of humanity be against the law? These days, every one sees life support machines as lifesavers which in many cases, they are. They allow people to get up after an illness or accident and carry on with their lives as normal. However, it is not always that way; in lots of cases people suffer from cancer or other life threatening illnesses and are put onto life support machines to help all their organs and parts of their bodies work properly. Here is where having mercy and ending their life peacefully can help, when people are suffering like this. That is the only thing keeping their hearts beating so surely. It could not be considered evil to turn the life support machine off so that the person can quietly and painlessly slip away and leave behind the l!
Apart from the pain the person suffering from the illness, there is a lot more pain that is felt by others who love the person. Seeing the person they love just lingering on a painful life with no signs of waking up is very detrimental. When a member of the family or friend is so ill, it almost seems as though their soul is lost and all that is left is the body. The person will never be the same again, so the people who love that person realize that there will be no hope nor do they even expect a miracle.
The person's condition may go on for months even years, the person is ticking by with constant time. When in reality, they are just about half-dead with a machine keeping their other half alive. It seems terrible to talk about these people as an inconvenience, but they really are. Many people are in need of the hospitals' equipment and doctor's and nurse's time; of course, that is not anybody's fault.
