             The book and the movie Fahrenheit 451 had some similarities but many differences. Some of the differences include missing characters. There were also many scenes in the movie that was changed from those in the book. There were some things that were the same like the ending.
             Compared to the book the movie had some missing characters. Some of which include Faber whom helped Montag toward the end of the story. The movie also left out the mechanical dog that didn’t like and chased Montag. Montag’s wife was in the movie but her name was changed from Mildred to Linda.
             There were some scenes that were changed from the book to the movie. One of which was when Montag meet Clarisse. In the book they met on the street near his house whereas in the movie they met on the subway. Another thing was how they burned the books. In the book they just went in and burned the whole house. The movie they went in and threw the books outside into a big pile and used the flamethrower to burn them.
             Although many things were different there was one thing that was the same, which was the ending. In both the book and movie montag had to go and burn his own house. He was sent to burn it because his wife turned him in for having books in the house. While burning his own house he snapped and burned Captain Beatty to death. Since he was wanted for the murder of Captain Beatty he ran away from the city down the river and met up with the people on the railroad that read books and memorized them.
             In conclusion, the book and the movie had many differences and some similarities. They include different characters and changed scenes. One similarity was that it had the same ending.
