             Football is a sport that is thought to be first played by the Greeks.
             Though, in their time it was called harpaston. The idea was pretty much
             the same. You want to get the ball over the goal line by either running it,
             kicking it or passing it, and that's exactly what you do in football now.
             The only major difference would have to be the style of defense. Now
             tackling people has limits on the ways you can tackle...there's no tackle
             after the play, you have to have intent...and so on, but back in the time of
             the Greeks their tackling the considered to ferocious.
             Though the Greeks may have been the first to play the sport, the
             Europeans were the first to have the most modern style we play today. In
             the twelveth century the game was popular that various English monarchs,
             including Edward II and Henry VI, forbade the game because it took
             interest away from the military sport of archery. By the middle of the 19th
             century, football had split into two distinct new sports. These sports
             became known as soccer and rugby, and these sports are just as popular
             today as they were hundred's of years ago.
             The game of football was played for the first time, fully organized,
             at the college level on November 6, 1869. The first two teams were from
             Rutgers and Princeton universities. These two teams met in New
             Brunswick, New Jersey for the game. In the first games, each team played
             twenty-five players at a time. By 1873 the number was reduced to twenty
