             1926 brought two important events in Alfred Hitchcock's life. He made his first suspense film known as The Lodger, a story about a man mistaken for Jack the Ripper. Critics and audiences both praised the film. He later married Alma Reville on December 2, 1926, at Brompton Oratory. He knew Alma from Famous Players-Lasky, where she had been a writer.
